Grace Notes – Gracious Interruption

“Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.”

                  Proverbs 3:5-6  AMPC

Good Morning Beautiful Friend,

So life continues to be interrupted by COVID. It’s becoming very inconvenient, as I cannot do the things I want to do. Notice, I say want – not need.

As I wait, trying to be patient, for my body to recover from this unexpected illness, I find I’m relying less on my own understanding of the “why” and leaning harder into God. My energy levels are low, my brain a bit foggy, my body still aches, and discouragement is trying to set in. While I can’t do much about gaining more energy (not going to rely on too much caffeine) and the brain fog, I can guard my thoughts against discouragement.

Turning my mind towards Christ and who He is, learning more about the Savior keeps me from diving head first into a self-pity pit.

I can be confident in the Lord, knowing He is trustworthy, and none of the discomfort, pain, and interrupted plans will be wasted. While the path ahead isn’t clear, choosing to trust God helps me through this gracious interruption.

I don’t know where you are on your journey with God, but I pray you will take time to seek Him, learn more about Him and lean into trusting Him more deeply. Trusting God with all your heart is the best way to endure life’s interruptions.

           In His Grace,

             Dawn

Prayer:

Gracious Father, I come to You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, grateful that You are trustworthy, especially when life is interrupted by unexpected circumstances. Forgive me for the times I complain and grumble when life isn’t going the way I plan. Help me to see that the interruptions are part of Your plan and that You are using them to draw me closer to You. Help me grow in my understanding of You as You direct my path. Amen
